Belleoram (Dorymen) video

In my dreams I have wandered
to a land so far away,
It's a quiet little village
nestled down in Fortune Bay;
Where the people are friendly,
it's where I long to be,
A little place called Belleoram
this is home sweet home to me.

I remember the good times
when we walked off to school,
And the teacher would try, too,
to teach the Golden Rule;
There was hunting and fishing
and swimming galore,
Dancing and parties all along our rocky shore.

At the early age of sixteen years
I left my native land,
And took up adventure like any young man;
From Halifax to New York City
and Bermuda's sunny shore,
The St Lawrence River and the Bay of Fundy sure.

From St John's to Bonavista
and Burin's rocky shore,
'Cross to English Harbour
and I'll soon be home once more;
Then my old friends will greet me
and say welcome home,
It's been a long time since you left us to roam.

Now the years have rolled onward,
many places I have seen,
I forgot familiar faces
and I made so many friends;
But each time that I travel
my thoughts begin to stray,
Back to that little village
nestled down in Fortune Bay.

Where the people are friendly,
it's where I long to be,
A little place called Belleoram
this is home sweet home to me.
